Deer Run is a 1960s subdivision on the east side of Nashua Road, south of Ranlett Lane, made up of Stag Drive, Doe Drive and Fawn Lane. In August 1965 Emmons, Fleming and Bienvenu, engineers and surveyors of Billerica, drew the "Definitive Plan of Deer Run" for its owner, H. Allen Jenkins and Sons, Inc. The town clerk received notice of the Planning Board's approval on October 6, 1965, and with no appeal filed the plan was signed on October 27 and recorded the next day in two sheets (Plan Book 102, Plan 134), with the clerk's certificate in Book 1723, Page 160.

The plan laid out two parallel 50-foot streets running east from Nashua Road, Stag Drive and Doe Drive, joined at their east ends by Fawn Lane, which ran north to Ranlett Lane. It numbered lots 8 through 71, nearly all of them 30,000 square feet with 150 feet of frontage and 200 feet of depth, with drain easements between some of them. The lots fronting Nashua Road were marked as Jenkins land and left out of the subdivision. The rest of the company's land lay to the north; H. Peter Hansen owned the land to the south, and Elm Realty Trust, James and Mary T. Irwin and Robert T. Jones owned the land to the east. The Jenkins company had laid out Jenkins Drive off Treble Cove Road on the Meadowglen Estates plan a few years before.

Building followed quickly: most of the houses on Stag and Doe Drives date from 1966 to 1969, and Fawn Lane filled in more slowly.
